Registration has begun for the Spring 2018 insight2050 Academy.  Jointly organized by MORPC and The Ohio State University Knowlton School of Architecture Alumni Society, the series is intended for planners, architects, and other development practitioners. Knowlton School graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.

The sessions will convene from 8-11 a.m. on March 2, 9, 16, and 23, in the Mount Leadership Room of Longaberger Alumni House, 2200 Olentangy River Road in Columbus. The March 23 class will culminate in participant recognition and graduation.

The Spring 2018 Academy – the fourth organized by MORPC since the Fall of 2016 – has a new element designed especially for practitioners. The first two sessions, as in other academies, will offer extensive background on insight2050 data and scenarios.  But on March 16, participants will split into design groups and, based on information from community leaders, develop plans and schematics to accommodate growth and address challenges in those communities.

Participation in the insight2050 Academy is competitive and space is limited. To apply, please submit an application form. Submissions will be reviewed for strength of application, community involvement, and personal references. A registration fee of $150 is due prior to the first class, and will cover costs and support the alumni society’s scholarship fund. A limited number of students may attend at a reduced $75 fee. The last day to submit an application is Monday, February 26.
