This is the last call for applications to the Autumn Class of the insight2050 Academy. The application period has been extended to September 29. The first class of the three-session series begins on Tuesday, October 3.

This series is geared for citizen activists – neighborhood/community associations, engaged residents, preservation community, and others. The October 3 class runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Priority Designs, 100 S. Hamilton Rd. in Whitehall. One speaker is Terry Foegler of Dublin, who will explain how demographics drove the city’s Bridge Street corridor and other developments and policy changes. Local Economist Bill Lafayette will discuss how population and demographic changes will affect the regional economy. Mark Ferenchik of The Columbus Dispatch will moderate a panel discussion.

Other classes are October 10 in Westerville, with a focus on municipal planning and costs; and October 17 at MORPC, with a focus on development, and how citizens and developers can better understand each other’s needs.
